The Department of Continuing Professional Training (DCPT) is a subdivision of SUPES, which was initially founded by order of the Ministry of Education Of Science of the Republic of Moldova no. 247 of 05.08.1993, through which the discipline of Physical Education from the Chair of Educational Disciplines of the National Institute of Continuing Education was transferred within the Faculty of Training and Retraining of the specialists in the field of physical education and sports of NIPES.
Later, the mentioned faculty, being merged with the Faculty of Part-Time Education, functioned as a subdivision of SUPES, until the summer of 2007. By the decision of the Ministry of Education and Youth no. 04-04-1140 of 28.08.2007 was founded the Department of Continuing Professional Training, whose staff provide 5 units.
DCPT is an educational, postgraduate and scientific-methodical center, coordinating the field of continuing professional training (improvement/qualification/specialization/requalification) of specialists in the general fields of study: 011 Education sciences; 100 Sports Sciences; 101 Public services; 103 Security services.
DCPT provides the following educational services:
1) Thematic training/specialization courses up to 150 hours (up to 5 credits);
2) Short-term training / specialization / full service courses up to 1200 hours (up to 40 credits);
3) Courses and additional qualification programs based on studies:
a) higher education (bachelor's degree, ISCED level 6) up to 2400 hours (up to 80 credits);
4) Courses and professional requalification programs for achieving a new qualification based on studies:
a) higher education (bachelor's degree, ISCED level 6) with a duration of more than 2700 hours (minimum 90 credits for the same field).
DCPT mission is to provide quality continuing professional education services, requested by beneficiaries of continuing professional training: institutions and individuals interested in updating knowledge or achieving new knowledge and skills necessary for professional improvement or requalification in the field of physical education and sports, public services and security, with a view to active integration into the labor market.
For the sake of efficiency activity, DCPT set the following objectives:
a) identifying the needs of initiation, improvement/specialization / qualification / professional requalification of specialists in the general fields of study: Education sciences; Sports sciences; Public services; Security services;
b) reconceptualizing the continuing training of specialists in the general fields of study: Education sciences; Sports sciences; Public services; Security services, from the perspective of motivation for lifelong learning;
c) the permanent connection of the qualification and studies level of the continuing professional training beneficiaries to the current requirements of the society and labor market;
d) optimizing lifelong learning strategies;
e) human resources development through continuing professional training activities;
f) methodological training of specialists, promotion of scientific innovations and advanced experience;
g) the analysis of new educational technologies through the elaboration of didactic-methodical scientific works in view of the professional development as well as the capitalization of the programming of the most current educational problems;
h) providing consultancy, methodological and specialized assistance to local specialized bodies in the field of education, teachers of physical education and sports, as well as specialists in the general fields of study: Education sciences; Sports sciences; Public services; Security services in the country.
The regulatory framework regarding the functioning of DCPT is elaborated in accordance with the legislative-normative acts in force, being approved by the hierarchically superior bodies and the SUPES Senate, promoting in its activity the values of democracy and law legal form, national, civic and cultural interests.
The continuing professional training programs (improvement, specialization, additional qualification and requalification) of the DCPT are approved by the Senate and the relevant ministry, subsequently being subject to the authorization/accreditation process in accordance with the legislation in force.
In the period 2019-2020, DCPT achieved an External Quality Assessment Certificate, issued by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research, for 7 training programs (from 12 existing):
a) for accreditation - two training programs:
1) Education sciences. Teacher training - 20 credits;
2) Sports sciences. Sports training - 20 credits;
b) in order to authorize temporary functioning - 5 training programs, requalification / professional qualification:
1) Education sciences. Teacher training - 60 credits;
2) 100 Sports Sciences. 1000 Sports training - 60 credits;
3) Education sciences. Teacher training - 90 credits;
4) 100 Sports Sciences. 1000 Sports training - 90 credits;
5) 100 Sports Sciences. 1000 Sports sciences. Coach (assistant taekwondo male coach/assistant taekwondo female coach).
As a promoter of education, DCPT provides its students with an efficient training system based on:
a) training modules, the purpose of which is to meet the needs of adult education and training;
b) the professionalism of the trainers in the theory and practice of the specialization fields;
c) interactive teaching system, modern course materials and in accordance with national and international standards of professional training;
d) the possibility to participate as a partner in the projects initiated by DCPT, institution or research.
The study process is organized through theoretical, methodical, laboratory, practical-methodical lessons, seminars, practical works, papers, consultations, exchange of experience, methodological elaborations, the individual activity of the students, direct or distance contact (on-line), etc.
In order to ensure the quality of the continuing professional training process, the selection of teachers - trainers from the specialized departments are made both on the basis of professional skills and the specific criteria of the field and the manifestation of skills and performance in the field. Also, specialists from general education institutions, the National Olympic and Sports Committee, the National Center for Sports Medicine "Atletmed" etc. are co-opted, invited. All trainers involved in conducting training programs are experienced specialists, holders of teaching and scientific degrees.
