The Department of Individual Sports Events( DISE) was founded in 1991 and follows in its activity the Regulations in the field of higher education in the Republic of Moldova and the Decisions of the SUPES Senate.
The Chair plays an important role in the formation of the new generation of physical training teachers and coaches. Wrestling being one of the most spectacular sport type with a special charm, with old traditions, which constitute our national pride and represents us at important competitions ( national, international , Olympic games). Through the years the chair was headed by: Ivan Curdov, Associate professor, master of sport of USSR, Ion Znacovanu, PhD in Education,Veaceslav Manolachi, dr. habil. university professor, master of sport of USSR, Honored coach of the Republic of Moldova, Ilie Chirtoacă, associate professor, nationally certified judge, Viorel Dorgan, dr. habil. university professor, Sergiu Busuioc, PhD, university professor, master of sport of USSR, merited coach, judge certified at the union level, Natalia Lefter, PhD, associate professor, master of sport in judo and sambo. At the moment the chairperson is Angela Polevaia-Secăreanu, PhD, associate professor, international master of sport, nationally certified judge
The Chair of Individual sports events has the following objectives:
- provide a durable development of the education system for the development of an integral , active, creative and social personality;
- increase the acces to qualitative education for all the students that want to study individual sports by providing a friendly and protective university environment and by consulting students when important decisions are taken ;
- extension and diversification of the continuous instruction system from the perspective of professional and general forming , in conformity with the new requirements ;
- qualitative training of future specialists in the field of sport and physical education;
- increase efficiency of the educational process for the objects taught at the department for the formation and development of the curricular competences ;
- formation and development of professional competences of lecturers by exchanging experience among lecturers and similar institutions for the efficiency increase of the educational process;
- increase the interest of students in an efficient learning of the subjects taught by the chair ;
- implication of lecturers and students in activities of scientific research by participation at conferences, seminars, roundtable discussions, trainings etc.
- implication of students in extracurricular activities;
- periodic analysis of methodological activity results of the chair.
The Chair has modern facilities and resources which include gyms specialized for combat sports, classrooms with information technologies and computers
From the didactic perspective the Chair is a complex structure which covers the entire range of didactic activities ( courses, seminars, practical and laboratory works ) and comprises the number and proportion of lecturers that are sufficient for the optimal realization of the didactic process.
From the scientific perspective the teaching staff of Chair assists students in their scientific research activity for their licentiate, master, doctor papers.
The treasure of our department is our professors, they had approved themselves in different spheres: science, sport, methodological , scientific, practical innovations etc.

- Kinetotherapy (V. Dorgan, A. Polevaia-Secăreanu, V. Ivanov, I. Chirtoacă);
- Recreative physical education (A. Polevaia-Secăreanu, V. Ivanov, A. Postolachi);
- Property security services (A. Cotorcea, G. Scobioală, I. Neagu);
- Civic security and public order (A. Cotorcea, G. Scobioală, I. Neagu);
- Technology of sport training (V. Manolachi, A. Polevaia-Secăreanu, N. Lefter, I. Dercacenco).
For purposes of offering a qualitative educational process at the department were created the following commissions:

The ISE Chair organizes and conducts various methodological and sport activities, annual scientific conferences for students and master’s, student’s championships, university and republican sport competitions dedicated to traditional holidays, combat sports seminars and masterclasses with different topics.
The ISE Chair has an extensive scientific and research activity, up to 2021 there were published in the country , 909 methodological and scientific papers (813 scientific articles, 56 methodological papers, 30 monographs, 10 handbooks), abroad - 297 articles. ISI - 23; BDI - 186; B - 207; B+ - 254; C - 298; without category - 238.
The Chair members colaborate with chairs with the same domain from România, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, USA, Korea and other countries.
Up to the present moment at the Chair were defended 20 PhD theses in Pedagogy, 2 dr. habil. theses. At the moment at the Chair 7 PhD students are engaged.

Throughout its activity the chair of individual sports events had educated and formed an impressive number of great sportsmen that had won medals :
